Washington County Literacy Council offers several opportunities for
volunteers. From the long-term commitment of tutoring an adult non-reader, to
periodic short-term or one-time reading projects such as the Literacy Fest or
community story times.
WCLC also offers several "Baby Book Bag" days throughout the
year. Seamstresses and others come together to sew and organize materials for
the Baby Book Bags, given to new mothers at Washington Hospital.
Additionally, volunteers provide. . .
· a link to the community
· an ear to someone in crisis
· hope to persons in need
· valuable talents to agencies
· opportunity for all individuals
· affordable services
· a wealth of resources
